If any abnormal areas are identified, a small tissue sample (biopsy) may be taken and sent to a laboratory for further analysis.
The procedure typically takes 15 to 30 minutes and is performed as an outpatient service in our clinic. Most patients can return home shortly after.
After the procedure, most patients can return to their daily activities. Mild spotting or discomfort may occur for a short time, especially if a biopsy has been taken.
